It felt like spring

It might not be as warm as summer, but one of the days, it felt like spring. It was so warm that it felt unbelievable for such warmth in February here in Maryland. I had to quickly pretend like it was summer for a second (disclaimer: don't try this at home--it was a bit cold LOL). 

Where at thou, warm weather? I miss my summer outfits especially after being in Nigeria for nearly a month with sunlight and warmth.

Anyway, this is a short week for me because I was off on Monday. I am looking forward to the weekend already. I have a wedding to attend this weekend. What do I wear? Since I don't have the "Asoebi" (couple's uniform), I am thinking of wearing a long skirt or a capri type pants similar to this post here.

Zara Belle

Another new week! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! For the most part, my weekend was relaxing and fun. I spent my Saturday cooking one of my favorite spicy Jollof rice--I wish you guys can taste it, but you will need bottles of water next to you to get through couple spoons--my friend Nomy can testify to it ;)

After cooking in the early Saturday afternoon, I went for relaunching of my hairstylist's salon, which was awesome. Since I am so into interior decorating, I was amazed at the interior decor of the salon. I have been taking notes because once I graduate next May, I will have a lot of time to transform my garage into my on walk-in closet. Right now, I am thinking all white with zebra prints, black, and red details. Until then, I am letting my imagination run wild. :)

On Sunday, immediately after church and couple pictures by my friend/photographer Paosin, I had to go to the library for two group meetings...my nerd hat was back in full force dealing with Investment Finance and International Business cases. I stayed in the library until almost 9pm. Immediately I got home, I could only picture my bed with Ipad scrolling through pictures. Few minutes to an hour later, I was in dream land with my music still playing in my ears :)

Shades of blue

My weekend was spent getting some rest and finishing up my school work for the week. After a sleepless week, on Saturday, I slept most of the day before heading out to dinner with my husband. After dinner, I decided to get a manicure, pedicure and my eyebrows done. I went in with full eyebrows but I came out with barely none--thanks to lady at the nail salon...smh! At least I have MAC espresso matte and bangs as cover up LOL!

On Sunday, I was able to make one of my favorite soup "Okra soup"- I haven't had it in a while. I ended up eating so much that night I could barely get up from my seat. I am a self proclaimed foodie, but the good thing is that I don't really eat a lot of junk food. :)

On another note, this is another busy week for me both at work and school, but the good thing is that I am looking forward to some fun time with my hubby & friends/coworkers in Vegas. I am a Vegas newbie, so I am so looking forward to some fun after work in the Sin City. 

Next week is halloween...do you guys have your costumes ready? I have an idea what my costume will be, but you will just have to wait and see. :)

Recap: 10-17-11

How is everyone doing? My weekend went by as quickly as possible; but on Saturday, I participated in my first relay marathon for a cause. With barely any training, I ran the last leg of the marathon relay. I ran about 7.3 miles in about 1 hours 15mins. I was so difficult to do; but after I have completed the race, I felt a big accomplishment.

Now that the race is over, I am still struggling with a stiff and aching muscle. My thighs and legs hurts so much especially when I get up or walk around after sitting down long time. It is funny that that despite the aching muscle, I still wore my heels to work today. In all, I am beyond proud to be involved in a cause towards breast cancer.

Metallic hues

How is everyone doing? I was in Atlanta for 3 days for a conference, which went well. I had the opportunity to network with different companies and students. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to meet up with some of my readers and bloggers from ATL. Hopefully, I will get another chance to meet them again.

Now that I am back to my reality, I have a bunch of assignments waiting for me. Thank goodness that I had today off from work to catch up, but I still had class tonight. I will be spending tonight finishing up on my study cases.

On another note, metallics are big for me this fall. I am in love with silver & gold metallics--there is something edgy and fun about those hues. I fell in love with the Zara metallic skirt and shoes once I saw it. I can get enough of the shoes as you can see from my previous outfit post here.

Patterns & Color

I am feeling a lot better and thank you all for all the kind words and get well wishes--you guys are the best :) Your love and support is overwhelming and I sincerely appreciate it.

On another note, I am working on a beauty post. I have gotten so many emails and comments about what beauty products or make up that I use. I can't wait to do a post and share all my secrets--I am definitely not a make up expert; but what works for me might work for someone else.

I can't believe September is almost over. This means that December/Christmas is about three months away....Yayyyy! I have not been to Nigeria in almost 4 years--I bet it will be fun and hopefully meet some of my readers and other bloggers.

Graffiti

How was everyone's weekend? My weekend started off greatly with a happy hour with my friends/coworkers. After some drinks and food, I headed off to celebrate with a friend of ours who was in town for Labor Day and also celebrated his wife's birthday.

Since this is Labor Day weekend here in the States, I am enjoying a long weekend. I pretty much slept in and enjoyed a mini BBQ with some friends that stopped over and squeezed in some studying and blog hopping :)

After the ordeal

With hurricane Irene all weekend long, I spent most of my weekend indoors resting. Normally, I don't like taking naps, but I was so tired on Saturday after work that I slept for a long time. This resulted in me being wide awake all night and spending the night studying and flipping through magazines.

Late Saturday evening, our power went off. I felt like a restless kid. Having no power was not fun at all. It was so hard to sleep and I got tired of eating cereal and bread :)  When we went out to eat after the weather subsided the following day, the waiting time to get seated at the restaurant was ridiculous. 

On Sunday, the weather was getting better, but still no power. I had a withdrawal from blogging and visiting some of my favorite blogs. My Power didn't return until about 5 hours ago.

Hope everyone was safe during hurricane Irene.
