Hello Beautiful people! How was your weekend? 

For me,  my weekend was nonexistent because I still have the last week of school to prepare for. I spent my Saturday in the library from 12p to about 11pm working on a group paper and presentation. We pretty much turned the study room to our mini living room with snacks, music, and side chats. In all, it was productive.

On Sunday, it was all about recovering and relaxing from being a nerd all day on Saturday. I stayed home and attempted to figure out what clothes or shoes to pack for my trip even though it is three weeks away. The rest of my Sunday evening, I watched christmas movies on Lifetime and I also got to see "Fours Christmas" for the first time--I know I am beyond late :)

Through the lights

My activities this week are so far from interesting. My daily activities from Monday until today has  revolved around work and school, but school is definitely taking the lead this week! I have been on a 3-4hrs sleep schedule just to meet up with assignments. Funny enough, I still feel alert and vibrant  majority of the time without any coffee. Thank goodness that I have Friday off--yayyyyy! :)

For the rest of the week, I plan on going to the spa with mom and possibly a dinner with my friends Ivelisse and Madeline. Until then, I will keep myself busy with school assignments as usual.

On another note, I can't get enough of fur (faux) vest. I just love that it can styled in different ways: casual, classic, and glamorous. Since I was going out for a friend's event, which was during the day, I went for the casual and fun route.

How is everyone doing? It is midweek and this means that the weekend is around the corner. The week seems to be going pretty fast and not as stressful as the prior week though I have the same work load. On the other hand, maybe I am a bit excited that I get to relax on this trip.

I wore this outfit on a night out with my hubby. I was going for a simple look while allowing the accessories and my shoes to make a statement. From the scarf to the shoes, you will see how much I love animal prints. Animal prints or leopard prints are more than a trend to me. They always add an edgy look to an outfit.

Shades of blue

My weekend was spent getting some rest and finishing up my school work for the week. After a sleepless week, on Saturday, I slept most of the day before heading out to dinner with my husband. After dinner, I decided to get a manicure, pedicure and my eyebrows done. I went in with full eyebrows but I came out with barely none--thanks to lady at the nail salon...smh! At least I have MAC espresso matte and bangs as cover up LOL!

On Sunday, I was able to make one of my favorite soup "Okra soup"- I haven't had it in a while. I ended up eating so much that night I could barely get up from my seat. I am a self proclaimed foodie, but the good thing is that I don't really eat a lot of junk food. :)

On another note, this is another busy week for me both at work and school, but the good thing is that I am looking forward to some fun time with my hubby & friends/coworkers in Vegas. I am a Vegas newbie, so I am so looking forward to some fun after work in the Sin City. 

Next week is halloween...do you guys have your costumes ready? I have an idea what my costume will be, but you will just have to wait and see. :)

Polka Dots

The weekend is almost here again, which is an exciting news for me. I don't have much plans for the weekend except completing my paper that is due the coming week. Besides that, I might go to the movies with my hubby. I have been so busy that I don't even know what movies are out or the last movie that I saw. Thinking about it..., I think the last movie I saw was "Columbiana".

Have you guys seen any movies recently? Any recommendation?

It has been raining a lot here. I keep procrastinating getting rain boots. Couple weeks ago, I saw some really cute 'Hunters' metallic rain boots, but they didn't have my size anymore. If I don't find the metallic ones anymore, I will probably go with a black patent one. :)

Patterns & Color

I am feeling a lot better and thank you all for all the kind words and get well wishes--you guys are the best :) Your love and support is overwhelming and I sincerely appreciate it.

On another note, I am working on a beauty post. I have gotten so many emails and comments about what beauty products or make up that I use. I can't wait to do a post and share all my secrets--I am definitely not a make up expert; but what works for me might work for someone else.

I can't believe September is almost over. This means that December/Christmas is about three months away....Yayyyy! I have not been to Nigeria in almost 4 years--I bet it will be fun and hopefully meet some of my readers and other bloggers.

After the ordeal

With hurricane Irene all weekend long, I spent most of my weekend indoors resting. Normally, I don't like taking naps, but I was so tired on Saturday after work that I slept for a long time. This resulted in me being wide awake all night and spending the night studying and flipping through magazines.

Late Saturday evening, our power went off. I felt like a restless kid. Having no power was not fun at all. It was so hard to sleep and I got tired of eating cereal and bread :)  When we went out to eat after the weather subsided the following day, the waiting time to get seated at the restaurant was ridiculous. 

On Sunday, the weather was getting better, but still no power. I had a withdrawal from blogging and visiting some of my favorite blogs. My Power didn't return until about 5 hours ago.

Hope everyone was safe during hurricane Irene.

Maximize the slit

Slits are making a comeback and the trend can be observed at the moment from runways to red carpets. When I was thirteen, I was all about maxi skirt with slits on both sides; fast forward to 2011,  I wore my Zara slit dress for a night out with my hubby. This dress can be worn casually with flats and you have the option of dressing up like I did....

A Day in my life

Cheers to another weekend! I feel like I had two weekends back-to-back because I only had three work days this week due to 4th of July holiday.

I wore this dress over the weekend while out in downtown with the hubby.

 For an edgy look, I wore my H&M dress and Sam Edelman's booties. Without being overboard, I added the beige Aldo bag  and colored bangles; it softens the look by adding some colors to the outfit. To complete to look, I had to add my current obsession, which is the round sunglasses. I call it my "rockstar" glasses. :)

Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I had a pretty relaxing weekend. After working for 5hours on Saturday, I went on a double date with my hubby and my parents to DC ; we had lots of fun.

On Sunday, after church, I went to shoot some photos then grabbed something to eat at "La Madeline". The rest of the day was spent watching movies with my hubby.

Monday was all about food, more food, then some browsing, blogging, shopping before watching fireworks from my stairs.
