Tess Designs' Summer Collection 2012

Oh, it is always a good day when the lovely Theresa gives us sneak peeks into her new designs.  Today, she shared some gorgeous snaps from the Summer 2012 Collection, which is inspired by Old Cape Cod.  I am in the throes of a love affair with blues, and this frock is the epitome of a romantic summer in an elegant resort.

The fabrics used in this collection are, of course, without peer and include such lovelies as open-work eyelet to a reproduction Harrocks’ print of the 1950s.  Delectable, no?

Alas, we shall have to be a bit more patient as the collection will be released in June 2012.  In the meantime, do stop by  Tess Designs and peruse their gorgeous Spring Collection.  I have the Claire Blouse in Daffodil and can say that it is easily a very favourite piece in my wardrobe.

Doesn't your wardrobe deserve some Tess-ing up?

Tess Designs' 2012 Spring Collection

I actually gasped out loud when I saw Tess Designs' 2012 Spring Collection.  Oh, my heavens, ladies, Theresa has really outdone herself and has designed exquisitely feminine blouses, skirts, and dresses.  Prepare to be amazed!

Audrey in Gingham is so classically beautiful.  I love it paired with the red accessories as shown and can easily visualize it paired with endless colours.  I have wanted a gingham dress like this for ages!  Made from 100% cotton with a cool rayon lining, this dress will be absolutely sensational to wear.

Judy in Chocolate and Roses has left me breathless.  Isn't it amazing?  I love the gorgeous rose print (you all know my love of prints) and the colour combination is so pretty.  It's made from silk sueded organza (I think I just fainted) and lined in cool rayon.  This dress is on my Mother's Day wish list; I would love to have it grace my wardrobe.  Like all Tess Designs, it's a classically elegant piece that will never go out of style.

My heart is fluttering over the delicious femininity of Claire in  Daffodil.  Theresa has created it from absolutely stunning silk swiss dot chiffon (!!) and added beautiful pearl buttons in the front.  I absolutely adore the soft lemony colour and see it easily combining with everything from hot pink, to denim, to chocolate.  Gorgeous!

Claire in Cherry Blossom is another stunning addition to Tess' selection of blouses.  I love the delicate cherry blossom print and is flows so beautifully on the silk chiffon.  Again, I am in love with the pretty pearl buttons and exquisite feminine details of the blouse.  I would happily pair this with Ayn in Charcoal or a pair of high-waist denim trousers and ballet flats.

You know I've lost my heart to Ayn in Poppy.  Just look at that gorgeous texture and the colour is sensational.  My love of pink is well-documented and I am fortunate enough to own both Eloise in Honeysuckle and Pink Stripe.  I read an interview with Issac Mizrahi where he stated that hot pink is a neutral.  I believe he is absolutely right as, really, can you think of a colour that is not complimented by hot pink?  I can see this delicious skirt worn with the Claire blouse in both daffodil and cherry blossom.  Stunning!

For you Art Nouveau-loving ladies out there, Sarah in Spring Garden is just perfect! A beautiful border print silk twill is used to craft this lovely frock. The dramatic print easily dresses up or down, depending on your mood.

So, are you amazed? I know I am!  See the entire collection here and shop Tess Designs today.  I cannot recommend them highly enough.  The quality is exquisite, the designs timeless, and supporting a talented designer like Theresa is something I am proud to do.

Sponsor Review: Tess Designs Pink Safari Separates

I have been very fortunate of late.  Firstly, Shabby Apple sent me my own Bali Ha'i dress to review. Secondly, I had chosen an Ava top and Eloise skirt from Tess Designs' Separates Collection as part of their Valentine's Day sale and Theresa (recently promoted to Major in the US Air Force - congratulations!) included an extra top and skirt for me so I would have the whole pink mix and match set!  That's Theresa to a T - unfailingly generous.

It is my absolute pleasure to review these stunning garments.  As I have said previously, the quality of Tess Designs is exemplary and I recommend them wholeheartedly.  The front gathers paired with the delicate side buttons and peplum made me feel elegant and ladylike, yet comfort was not sacrificed for style in any way.  The garments are comfortable and practical, as they can be washed and hung to dry.

With these four new pieces in my wardrobe, my mix-and-match options are almost limitless.  Above is the gorgeous Ava blouse in pink stripe, which I paired with the matching Eloise skirt.  They are made from a deliciously soft cotton poplin and fully lined in cool and silky rayon.  This outfit epitomizes summer and I really wanted to find a sandy beach and walk about, sinking my toes into the sand.

Eloise is definitely a full, twirly skirt, which I love.  It closes with an invisible side zip and is also fully lined.  The delicate feel of the fabrics is luxurious and I feel quite spoiled to be sporting such lovely garments!  As you can see, both the Eloise in Pink Stripe and in Honeysuckle mix effortlessly with my Ava blouse.  Quite by accident, I was able to coordinate my umbrella, too!

I was feeling rather fancy and chose to dress up these outfits; however, I did wear my Eloise in Honeysuckle later with a simple black and white striped knit shirt and ballet shoes.  I threw a cardigan over my shoulders to keep out the chill and went grocery shopping.  Versatility is one of the many qualities I love about Tess Designs.  Theresa well understands the need for clothing that can meet the diverse needs of women.

Ava is a beautiful wrap blouse that closes with delicate (but sturdily sewn) buttons and features a softly gathered bodice and deep V back.  It's these extra feminine details which really set Tess Designs apart.

I highly recommend Tess Designs for high-quality, timeless pieces for your wardrobe.  The designs are undeniably feminine and flattering and an homage to the style of yesteryear.  They offer a variety of styles from day dresses to cotton separates to silk cocktail dresses.  Stop by Tess Designs today - I know you'll find something that is just right for you.

See? I can do anything in my Tess garments!

Go to College, Save Money, Be Fashionable

This is a shout-out to all of you college goers out there! In college, textbooks put a huge dent in your budget and it has a direct influence on the amount of school clothes you can buy. I’m here to tell you that there is a solution to all of this madness. Don’t buy your textbooks…RENT them!

The people over at campusbookrentals.com offer everyone 40-90% off on their textbooks. You just order your textbooks online, select how long you want to keep the books, free shipping both ways, you can highlight in the books, and at the end of the semester you just send them back in a pre-paid envelope they give you. You don’t have to worry about outdated textbooks that the bookstore wouldn’t buy back. You also don’t have to worry about all of those textbooks laying around in your basement taking up space. You do have the option to purchase the textbook at the end of the semester if you really want to keep it :)

Another really cool thing about renting from campusbookrentals.com is that they donate a portion of each rental to Operation Smile. This organization saves lives by performing cleft lip surgeries for children who are born to families who can't pay for it.

So you can save money AND save lives!

In addition, here is a !0% coupon code for the FIRST 10 people -->Jadorefashion10mb

Fancy Dresses

Disco dolly costume                                                          Pop bride costume                                          Deckhand diva costume

As the summer approaches, so does my creative mind. Seriously, the weather makes me really excited especially now that school is over. During the summer, I love hosting different types of parties/events with friends. I want to organize a costume party where my friends will be dressed in fancy dress ball.

After looking at the different collections of fancy dress costumes, I don't know whether to go with the  70s fancy dress; or be an 80s baby and wear one of the 80s fancy dress.

What fancy dress will you wear for a costume party?

Have a lovely weekend!
