One of my favourite spring/summer combinations are yellow and teal. It's the combination of the sunny yellow with the warm teal that makes me think of warm weather, patios, hammocks, and swishy summer dresses.
Another favourite of mine is pink and red. I adore both colours and wearing them combined just makes me happy. In fact, I am in the process of making myself a Lisette Portfolio Tunic from red and pink sweatshirt knit. Red with white polka dots have to been one of my all-time favourite prints.
Purple and orange is another favourite. Purple is, obviously, one of my most favourite colours, especially given that my hair is Deep Purple! Paired with orange, it reminds me of the deep, rich colours of India and the beautiful sarais worn by the women. For me, these are colours I would wear all year round; they inject happiness and zest into our glum winter days.
Aqua and red is really one of my all-time favourite colour combinations. It always brings to mind pretty spring dresses with bright prints, such as cherries. It's a fresh colour scheme and I love it's instant happiness-boosting abilities.
All of these favourite colour combinations, in addition to Colette Patterns' Spring/Summer 2012 Palette Challenge, inspired me to come up with a new colour combination that I'm fast falling in love with: sapphire, periwinkle, and leaf green, with hits of hot pink:
