{PFW} Details of Balmain Spring 2012

This was Oliver Rousteing's big moment. The young designer showcased a spectacular show with its elaborate embroideries and wallpaper - floral motif. He described it as a mixture of Mexican tailoring and the glamour of Vegas.

With a touch of softness to some of its pieces, he manages to blend it well with all the strong details we see here. I doubt if you don't make a grand entrance wearing these pieces.

{PFW} Dries Van Noten Spring 2012

If you're looking for a new inspiration for your Spring 2012 work wear then Dries Van Noten collection is for you. This Belgian designer is inspired by photographs of cityscape and blue water paradise that supplied the spectators with nothing short of imaginatively magnificent.

Using photographs of Marselle-base British photographer James Reeve for silk screen prints, he manages to incorporate it into his modernly chic collection with a mixture of different silhouettes and volumes. Here are some of my favorites.

Special Feature: Be Enchanted By Ellen Himic

Heavily influenced by historic architecture, antique sculpture and symbolic objects, Himic's collection is incredibly detailed in a way that you don't normally see with today's jewelry. She is definitely bridging the gap between contemporary and fine jewelry, using a select mix of semi-precious and precious stones set in a variety of metals to complete her handcrafted works of art.

"My current collections are interpretations of specific details in architecture. The Cassion Collection™ are interpretations of cassions, which are sunken panels found in ceilings of Basilicas and Cathedrals," explains the designer

Think Runway readers will get a 20% off discount of Ellen Himic jewelries at www.ellenhimic.com with the code "save20" for the month of November!
