Package of office applications (UK: office suite) is a software package designed specifically to work in the office. Its components are generally distributed together, have a consistent user interface and can interact with each other. Most office application package consists of at least a word processor and a spreadsheet. In addition, the package may consist of a presentation program, database tools, graphics packages and communications equipment. An office package can also have an e-mail client and personal information managers or groupware package.
The most dominant office package today is Microsoft Office, which is available for Microsoft Windows operating system and Apple Macintosh, and has become a standard office software package is a de-facto.
An alternative is any OpenDocument package, which uses the free OpenDocument file format defined by ISO / IEC 26 300.
