Chia sẻ của Thầy William về cái Tết Việt Nam

My first TET Holiday in Vietnam was really fun. Me and a friend went to Mui Ne, Na Trang, and DaNang.  I stayed on my friends  family farm near DaNang and we celebrated traditional TET eating rice cakes, drinking rice wine, playing cards, and eating watermelon seeds. We  gave lucky money to the children and sang songs.
Everyone was excited to see a foreigner and they all asked me to buy them a laptop. Needless to say I didn't buy them all laptops but they were still happy i came to their little farming village.
There was no tapwater or indoor plumbing so  I had to take a bath outside using well water every morning. I would lower the plastic bucket into the ground on a rope about 3 meters deep. Then I would dump the cold water over my head shivering in the cool morning air.

We then went to Hoi An and toured the city. The beach was great however the water a little cool at that time of year. I really liked the white sand beach and the friendly people in Hoi An.

We also went to Mui Ne and the sand mountains. I rented a motorbike and toured the countryside around Mui Ne and visited some romantic scenic areas along the coast over looking the sea.
I experienced traditional TET in DaNang and had a wonderful time. This year I will tour the Mekong Delta by motorbike and spend TET in Vinh Long and Can Tho.
In the past I have stayed in HCMC for TET but it was a bit boring, so this year i'm going out of town.
Most of my friends are vietnamese so TET Holiday for me is very traditional.
I look forward to having another great TET Holiday in Vietnam this year.
